How long until Sppedy Claxton starts for NO?

I can help being a Speedy fan.  Was sorry to see him leave Philly and sorry that GS gave up on him.

Dikau is nothing special, and in fact, Speedy has better stats.  If he doesn't start, will it be his fault or the coach's.

Not that I don't respect a well-executed play, but basketball is a simple game.  Run until you get open with a good shot at the basket, get the ball and score.  Go get the ball again.  Don't let your man score either.

The players who can handle the ball and see the court, who can make THE pass are the best types of players, provided they can do other things.  These are the players than make things happen.

Speedy may not be in that top 20%,  but with his quickness he can get his own shot and get to the line.   Come to think of it, if he gets the time, he might be in that top 20%.  He'll need to improve his shooting and 3pt. pct. to get there.

Speedy is going to have to take the job away from Dickau -- Dickau is someone that Bryon likes and he has done whatever Scott has asked him to do.  Byron likes that in any player!  I think Dickau is a defensively liability but Speedy didn't prove himself in GS -- perhaps a different system will be better for him?

I like Byron Scott as a coach, and being a guard himself, I'm sure he's tough on the players he has in those positions.  IMO, he's much better than the coach in GS.  Who the hell is Mike Montgomery anyway?

Speedy was the starter in GS, and he was putting up fair stats.  In Philly and SA he was behind players he wasn't going to beat out.  This time he's playing behind someone who isn't as good, IMO.

This fits in perfectly with zigs thread on talent and role playing.

For the love of.....why can't Speedy get on a team where he is either clearly the starter or clearly the backup, ie Spurs championship team -where he should have stayed!

GState with its confusing rotating pt guard spot and now N.O. where Dickau started out very badly, yet now is playing decently.  Is Dickau better then Speedy?  No, but why does NO wait until Dickau starts to play well, then gets Speedy?   Ok well it a salary dump of Baron Davis.  Still where does it leave Speedy and Dickau?

It fits the zig thread perfectly.  In a way this can mess up both Speedy and Dickau.
Speedy and Stephen Jackson should have stayed right in SA for less cashe.

NO, this is where either Dikau or Speedy establishes himself as being in that middle 40% or possibly the top 20%.

It would have been better for the Spurs to have kept Speedy, but not better for Speedy's career!

Depending on who he has to pass to, this could be a great opportunity for Speedy.  He is young and needs to establish himself in the league.  The Hornets are in dissaray and need to start building anew. Speedy has a chance to be there from the ground up.
