Someone please explain why the Hornets and Sixers

Hornets give up Mash and Rogers for Robinson's expiring contract?  Are the Hornets so desperate for cap space this summer?  Don't they already have a lot of cap room?  Not sure I understand this trade!

Hornets get immediate cap relief.  Sixers get rodney rogers for having to wait until partially through next year to get cap relief.

Thanks, dbods -- still trying to figure out how much cap relief the Hornets need -- aren't they under the cap?  

Well, make sure and tell the Sixers to send the Hornets a Christmas card -- it isn't often that teams give players away!
