Derek, I would like to see a change in the

This is different than what we have done the last couple of years, and I think we need to reevaluate it.

Presently it is set at 1 day, which in my opinion is not enough time to allow the waiver process to work correctly. If I drop a player today they become a FA tomorrow, which will limit the ability of players to make moves.

For example, I can place a player on waivers at 11:58 pm, and pick up another player for tomorrow. At 12:00 I can then drop the player I just picked up, and add the player I just dropped 2 minutes prior.

Also if a player is dropped at 11:58, but then the first player into the system each day will get first choice of all waived players. There is a strategy to using waivers, and that has been effectively eliminated by having just one day for waivers.

I am OK with 2 days, that gets players back into circulation faster, but it eliminates the ability to make move designed to circumvent the rest of the league. If you drop a player you shouldn't be able to get the first shot at that player, you should have to wait and allow everybody else the opportunity to pick them up. That is what waivers are for.

Being the king of the waiver wire, I've got to say that I'm with Ziggy on this.

Part of my using the wire to my advantage was in guessing players I could select at what times.  Do I pick up a better waiver player now, use him for one game and drop him, not to have him for several days, or try to "get by" with a lesser player in hopes of getting the better one a couple of days later to go multiple games for me?  That's part of the challenge of playing on the wire.  (The other part is trying to guess which player will go off against who.)

I like the idea of having a player who is waived AT MINIMUM clear waivers by going through all the other managers when they check in the next day before I pick him back up the day after that.  Otherwise, it truly is "pick up the best player at midnight."

As one of the others that uses a rotating 11th & 12th man I agree.  I thought waivers last year was 3 days which is a good time frame.  It makes those who use the waiver wire to consider a little more before releasing someone.
It riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave.  Keep on thinking free.

does anyone remember exactly what it was last year (I'm trying to keep things consistent).  I thought it was 2.  Does anyone know for sure?

I am pretty sure waiver and trades were both 2 days.  My other league was 3 days which made it longer than this league.  This league is set for one for trades right now, which is the same situation.  If a deal is finalized late in the day it goes through at midnight.
