Olympic Medal Round
« on: August 25, 2004, 03:42:56 PM »
If anyone is able to decipher from the various sports websites and TV network websites or TV guides at which precise time and which channel(s) Thursdays game is being broadcast a) live or b uninterrupted taped

please post.

What are your takes and prediction?

While I am encouraged that the more the US teams plays together, good or bad it moves them to be playing more team ball, it is crunch time.  Spain is here and now.  Are they ready?  No.  Are they more talented that they can pull it off while being not ready?  I dont think so.  I hope they beat Spain but I'd have to say all indications are they will get run.  Indications being primarily their utter lack of a 3 pt shooter and their abysmal FT% (thanks for the stats JoeV).  However, should we ever count out a Larry Brown coached team?  No way.  That plus look how bad they sucked on 3 pts and FTs but still almost beat Lithuania.  So bottom line Im gonna say.....
I dont want to make the pick.

Spain plays a game that fits us very well.

They are poor 3 pt shooters (our weakness) who's offense is based on pau gasol in the post (our strength).  Timmy shuts Pau down and game's over.

14:30 says the official Olympic website.

Assuming that time is Athens time.

Thus what does 14:30 Athens time translate into?
Doo do doo do doo do doooo
Do doo doo do du, du du du du du
(Jeapardy final question song).

7:00 am eastern, 4:00 am pacific, Thursday on USA Network.
A third-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking with the majority. A second-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking with the minority. A first-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking.

A quotation is a handy thing to have about, saving one the trouble of thinking for oneself.
