that's possible i guess, i can't see him being here next year though. if something happens it'll probably be before/during the draft.

agree with you on Arizona. they gotta go after him.

Yeah, a 6th is lower than even I was expecting. Makes me wonder if they'll want to trade Vick now or instead hold on to him for another year and maybe raise his value. Vick won't like that though, he's said he wants a chance to start somewhere.

And the problem with a McNabb trade is, he only has 1 year left on his contract. Whoever they trade him to is going to make sure he wants to signs an extension with them, so McNabb can pretty much choose his destination. So I would think a trade with an awful team like the Rams isn't likely.

It's gonna be a while before something happens.

Last night on Comcast Sportsnet they asked Ray Didinger what he thought Vick's value was. He said the Eagles were dreaming when they were hoping for a 2nd or 3rd, more likely going to be a 6th.

Derrick Gunn said they were asking for a 1st and 3rd for McNabb, but are now asking for only a third. There's also a rumor going around that the Rams are offering the 33rd pick (first pick of the second round).

So it seems Vick isn't all that valuable, sadly.

If all it took was athleticism to play WR (or any position in any sport) then just about every team would be stacked at WR. If it all came down to athleticism then Jerry Rice wouldn't have been the GOAT.

Vick has spent his entire career playing QB, if you trade for him and expect him to play WR you're taking a huge gamble... you're asking him to play a position he's never played and expecting him to play it at the highest level, at 30 years old.

The way I see it.. if someone trades for Vick they're either hoping he's improved his fundamental QB skills or they want to use him for gimmick plays. Since the Eagles already have 2 QBs and gimmicks aren't all that in the NFL, I'd trade him for a 3rd in a heartbeat.

Wouldn't you rather see San Diego use a 3rd on someone that could fill a position of need for the next decade?

right.. when a QB runs the play is usually fully developed and there's open field. He of course is/was (still not sure if he's lost a step and some elusiveness) one of the best at taking advantage of that.

A RB has to be patient and find the hole, be able to get yards after contact, block, etc etc... there are full time RBs that don't have these skills.

A WR has to catch, know how to run routes and get open, etc etc...

If McNabb moved, your starting QB Philly Eagles is
Miiiichaaal Vick!?
If McNabb is moved Kolb would most likely be the starter.

Vick is too inaccurate to be a kick arse QB and I don't think he has the skills to excel at RB or WR either. He's a running QB, that's all he'll ever be. I'd trade him for a 3rd.

Assante Samuel and Sheldon Brown can't tackle.
Today on DNL someone (Les Bowen?) said it right... Asante only cares about stats. And judging from how contracts and pro bowl selections are made, I can't blame him since the only stat that matters to a CB are the INTs.

After the game they asked McDermott why they didn't press the receivers when Dallas was doing all those screens to the WRs, McDermott more or less said he wanted to press the receivers but Asante does his own thing. ::)

Sheldon is usually a good tackler but he was pretty banged up at the end of the season, and you could see it in his play. I'm a big Sheldon Brown fan though so maybe I'm biased.

We got out played and out coached on both sides of the ball. I'll give McDermott a pass on D since he had to shuffle a lot of players around, and our D-line didn't do a good job pressuring Romo. In the Week 17 game against Dallas he didn't blitz much, in the playoff game he did. Neither worked but at least he tried something different. We just didn't have the talent to get it done, and our offense didn't exactly make things easier. Hopefully Bradley stays healthy next season and we find another good pass rushing DE.

Andy (and Marty) on the other hand.. there didn't seem to be any adjustments between games. If you can stop the big play you can stop our offense. Field position, time of possession, keeping the opposing team's pressure off balance with the run game.. all that takes a back seat to trying to score in 1 or 2 plays. Dallas' defense is playing well but they aren't the 2000 Ravens, we shouldn't have been shut down in back to back games like that.

That said, I still think we would have lost even if we had a better offensive gameplan, so my hate for Andy isn't as strong as it usually would be.

I think Vick's salary jumps up to 5 mil so they'll probably try to trade him for a pick, which is what I would do. I'm more interested in seeing what happens with McNabb.

Andy made some decisions I didn't agree with but in the end I can't put this one on him. The team just stunk it up out there.

Crazy that we have to go back to Dallas next week. We have to play better, there's no where to go but up... I'm not putting any money on it though ;)

Oh man.. that was an ugly first half. Both sides of the ball are struggling.. time to start drinking

Asante is the most overrated corner in the league.

A terrible call by the refs turned an Eagles interception into a play that put the Eagles offense on the 10 yard line
That was a terrible call.. and to top it off Macho got fined for the hit.

Definitely concerned with the O line now that Jamaal Jackson is out. He was playing great, and now we're weaker at center and guard since Cole is moving over to C.

I put more money than I should on the Eagles +3... commence crossing of the fingers and toes.

We have a couple of really good punt returners (nice change from the Reno Mahe years) so there's really no reason to put Vick back there. I think it was unfair how a lot of us thought of him as some super dynamic weapon when we signed him. He's at his best when he's taking snaps under center like a normal QB IMO. Hopefully he'll have enough value to get us a nice pick at the end of the year.

I always expect a tough game against the Giants. Their D-line scares me even if they have been a disappointment this year.

The Denver game is actually the next to last game, the Cowboys are the finale. So I think it'll matter.

Do you think he has a chance to eventually start or is he just going to be a depth guy?

I'm a huge Runyan fan, glad someones taking a chance with him. I loved watching him get out on a run plays and level fools.

He was a solid pass blocker and a great run blocker, but I don't know what you're going to get from him now, he's taken a beating over the years.  I do know he'll give everything he's got and play through any injury.

I'd say his dirty player rap is justified but it isn't a bad thing. He isn't going to cause stupid penalties or anything like that. You'll probably appreciate his nastiness if he gets a chance to show it.
