Ted,

I'm going to Keystone, Colorado.  If you're nearby, LET ME KNOW!  (And if anyone is along the way - like in Denver - let me know!)  I've been there once before, and enjoyed it immensely, so I'm going back.  I'll be staying at River Run.

As for the Jazz - what did they do that I didn't like?  They drafted Pavlovic - another small forward, when we're a team deep at small forward.  They didn't address their shooting guard deficiency.  They didn't draft to replace Malone.  They didn't do everything they could to KEEP Malone in the first place.  They didn't keep Massenburg.  They've accumulated center after center after center, and we're still stuck with DeShawn Stevenson at 2-guard.  And Ostertag has finally turned into too much of a whining baby when he doesn't get a call.

Granted, it's not as bad as Miami, or New Orleans, or Dallas, but it's still bad.

Kind of funny, but right now, Skander's a bigger Jazz fan than I am.  Given that he detests Miami, that'll probably end up being my next team.

I got on board with Utah because I liked Tom Chambers, and Jeff Hornacek, and Jay Humphries, and John Stockton.  I loved Carr, Eisley, Keefe, Ostertag, Vaughn, and Anderson;  I actually liked Bryon Russell before he decided he was a shooter, too.  But we didn't build off of that;  OLDEN POLYNICE?  THURL BAILEY?  DAVID BENOIT?  JOHN STARKS?  SCOTT PADGETT?  But I stuck around.  I was screaming for us to take Trenton Hassell.  We took DeShawn Stevenson.  I was screaming for us to take Carlos Boozer.  We took Ryan Humphries, and traded him and Jamal Sampson for Curtis Borchardt.  Sorry, but this isn't the Utah team I came on board for.

Matt Harpring might be my favorite player in the league.  But not like Stockton was.  Utah's moved on, and in a way, I guess I did too.  I still like the Jazz - I adore Sloan and his style, and I like a lot of Jazz players.  But they're not my "favorite team" the way they were.

                                                           Joe

I think my visits *ANYWHERE* are hit-and-run, anymore.  I've had my workload at the office increased a great deal, and as a result, no time to talk.

FanHome is increasingly demanding at a time when I have less time;  I don't see myself doing the moderator thing there much longer.  Pretty much, if I have time to do anything right now, I spend it on the fantasy league.  Why?  I have the most fun there.

Evenings are being taken up by my increased participation in games at the Tribune.  Plus, I'm doing more out-of-town things recently - like my upcoming ski trip.  (By the way, if anyone who is playing him next week offers me a sufficient bribe, I can make sure that Skander has some mysterious trouble signing into the fantasy league...)

To be honest, it's harder to get excited about basketball now that I don't have a team I'm actively cheering for.  All the teams I WOULD have selected did one thing or the other that I really hated, and couldn't bring myself to cheer for them.  Kind of funny, if you think about it.  The one team that made all and only positive strides (in my opinion) in the off-season was the Lakers, and I can't bring myself to cheer for them, since they're the favorites.

So, for right now, I'd say that everything is hit-and-run.  The future?  We'll see.  I just don't feel like making promises right now.
