Philadelphia 76ers / Re: ESPN Reports Iguodala Contract done

Is it odd that of all the press releases I've seen from the PC, I haven't seen a single quote from Iguodala?

Skates covered it in the offseason thread I believe.

I'd pick Sacramento as a surprise playoff team. As far as the Lakers, I'm just not buying them for some reason. Not a fan of their bench, or their PGs, and I'm curious to see how Gasol and Bynum work together on the interior.

I actually liked that the Sixers acquired him in the Webber deal, thinking he was a nice young role player with some skills that could be developed. I still kind of like him as a second-unit wing, and in Phoenix he could do just as well as in Golden State.

Barnes will fit there. Lou will sit on the end of the bench.

Barring injury, I'm picking New Orleans to win the whole thing. Best starting five in the league, and an improved bench. I'd follow with Utah, Houston, then LA.

Sims was on the Hornets Summer League team, averaging 4.5 & 2 in four games. Looks like he also had some big games in the D-League.

"Courtney is affectionately known as C. Sims or C. Smooth, as he likes to call himself."

Eesh. I wonder where they found this guy.

Same as Deng?

Either way, I'm glad it's done with. Now we can move on to a couple big men and get ready for the season.

If the Hawks don't match, then the market it completely dry for Iguodala.
Outside of a sign-and-trade, the market for Iguodala is dry whether they match or not, IMO. The Grizzlies have their 2G and SF of the future.

They needed a true backup center anyway, so IMO it'll have more of an effect on Speights role, like others said. I guess they'll look to add two more big men now to fill out the roster.

Or maybe, it's time for.....

If the Hawks don't match, that leaves Iguodala with exactly one bargaining chip on his side which is to sign the QO.

Maybe I'm missing something, but how does the Hawks decision affect Iguodala?

How is Thunder Bob not in the top three?

Yeah, AI coming back just isn't a good idea, IMO. Rip, I'm fine with, but Iguodala's going to be here, with Brand, Thaddeus and the rest of them, and they'll be a contender for a while.

I just wonder if at 3 years when Sam, Young and WG expire will they be willing to go well into the tax to resign or upgrade Sam.  I'd hate to see them let Sam walk just to stay under the tax.

Sam isn't the one I'd be worrying about in that trio. Young is. Unless you meant Evans instead of Thaddeus.
