Title: Fantasy League - Spot Open
Post by: Derek Bodner on October 18, 2008, 11:20:37 AM
We have one spot open in our fantasy league.  This is a keeper league, so intend to play next year as well.  Here is the available roster, of which you would carry over two players:
Mike Bibby
Josh Childress
Kevin Durant
Mike James
Rashard Lewis
Shawn Marion *
Antonio McDyess
Morris Peterson
Ben Wallace
Rasheed Wallace
Earl Watson
Chris Wilcox

* Shawn Marion can only be kept for one more year.

There's someone else out there who had requested to join the league if there was an opening who has a seniority on the board, and I would defer to his interest if he expresses it.

Yes I'm interested, but only if the other person (I forget who, but it's in a thread on the fantasy board) is uninterested

Nobody with "seniority" has requested participation, only that they have a "friend" that would participate.  I would prefer it be a board member who posts here for varioius "historical" reason.  ;)

We always knew Reality knew nothing about basketball.  Who knew he didn't know anything about fantasy basketball.<j/k>  And WOW agrees with his selection, for shame.

There is a player on that team NEITHER of you mentioned who is a fantasy monster!

If you're talking about Ray Allen, he has no keeper eligibility left.

No im pretty sure Ray Allen is a fantasy monster because he is a pretty efficient shooter especially behind the arc.

Obviously it was, but in the end I took Marion and Durant which are the obvious ones...we'll see what happens, I like Rashard I just don't like that he plays out of position.

Meant to say "Shard?"

But then, ziggy's reply probably would have been the same.

Not anything like the relationship between "sharted" and your brain.  ;D

His SF/PF status is a bonus, IMO.  Actually, I think it's quite a big bonus.  F is worth far more than GF IMO.

Shard was a far, far better fantasy player last year.  For Durant to have a better year he'd have to improve substantially.

We'll see what happens...and see if i can get anything for marion...durants last couple months seemed better than his first couple months so hopefully that trend continues as he gets more used to the league

If jem wants to hang himself with his own rope, I say we let him.

I disagree....now if Skandy would have said something like "Jem has made his oven and now he can bake in it"...then I might agree....
