Title: Juan Dixon
Post by: ziggy on July 29, 2005, 06:13:01 PM
I seldom watch the Wizards play, so really I have no idea who he is.  In looking at his numbers, I think we will be a better player than Derek Anderson.  So does anybody else have a good opinion of him?

Ziggy,

Dixon's a 2-guard, not a point guard, but the Wizards tried using him at point.  I thought highly of him, however many folks questioned his defense (which I thought was fine).  I was hoping Utah would pick him up and play him at the 2.

Leadership seems to be his best trait - willing to step up and fill whatever role he's asked to play.  On-again off-again as a shooter.  3-point shot could use some work.

Joe,

Dixon is a tiny guy with a big heart.  ziggy is absolutely right that he is a two guard.  He didn't even play point in college, (his Wiz teammate Steve Blake did that) though he is not inept as a ball handler.  At the least you can say this of Dixon.  If he doesn't succeed it won't be for lake of effort.

jn,

Agreed - which is why I thought he'd be a perfect fit in Jerry Sloan's world.
